Derek I’m proud to say is both a good friend, colleague and a musical accordion hero of mine of many years since hearing his playing on a tape “An Droichead Beag” a musical compilation from Dingle heydays of the music there. This is an album many musicians and fans have been waiting for from a master. Derek is one of the finest Irish accordion players ever on earth, this is a must have album and one thing I love personally is the way it’s recorded, it’s masterful music no studio trickery
